What do you value most as your family heirloom? Whether it’s an object passed down through generations or something you’ve stumbled upon at a vintage store, it comes with a story attached and connects us to our heritage and collective past. But, what if that family heirloom was destroyed due to neglect or churlishness? What if our generation just dropped the ball altogether, leaving the family with no treasured heirlooms and connected heritage?

The truth of the matter is that an heirloom is not the object, but rather the wisdom, knowledge, history, and stories that would be lost. That’s one of the chief reasons I was so determined to write my father’s story about God’s Amazing Grace and specifically share the words in the file he left me. What he left me was priceless, and it is my responsibility to protect it for the next generation. He passed on to me a legacy of what it means to have a relationship with God Almighty and spiritual values that I cherish and embrace to this day as my foundation of hope to share with the world.

Each generation has memories, stories, and values it must pass along to the next generation. This is essential as they pertain to our faith, beliefs, values, and spiritual matters. We do not want our children’s relationship with God not to be important to them, especially after they leave home and are on their own. The seed that you plant in your child starts the day they are born.

There are, however, three myths to deconstruct about passing on your spiritual relationship with God to the next generation. Read the details–in its entirety…AMAZING GRACE: How My Father Taught Me to Rejoice in the Word of Our Father

This letter answered two questions I had always asked myself. Why was I born? And what was my purpose for living? When my dad wrote me this letter, it was an extraordinary message of prophecy. I remember, as a teenager, my dad would forever tell me, “Carolyn, God has great things for you to do in the world for humankind.”

Let me share this letter with you.

Dear Carolyn,
It’s time to finish what God called you to do. The Lord Jesus does not give suggestions. He gives commands. If he has spoken to you to do something—which he has—then do it. No excuses. Find a way. Believe for a Miracle. Press on till you win. DON’T QUIT!

It’s time to obey God. God blesses you when you obey him. You have been obedient to God’s Word and said, “And I Will Rebuke The Devourer For Your Sake, And The Devil Shall Not Destroy The Fruits Of Your Ground.”—Malachi 3:11

Paul wrote in II Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” There will be a battle—you can expect to fight for anything God has called you to do. Your course or calling is God’s plan for your life. You will answer to God’s calling—you must finish the course you have started. Faith puts you on the Highway with God.
Don’t let go of faith. KEEP IT! Your faith in God will bring you total VICTORY. Stand up now and declare, “I will fight a good fight, I will finish my course, and I will keep the faith. By God’s Grace, nothing will stop me from doing the Will of God for greater is he that is in me than He that is in the world.” —1 John 4:4

Stand your ground against the devil, and stand your ground in the Lord. Don’t be robbed of God’s Blessing, for the violent take it by force. So tell yourself: I Am going to make it, I AM going to rise with God’s Power, He has made me an Overcomer, I’M GOING TO REIGN WITH HIM THIS HOUR.

In the Name of Jesus

With God’s Love,
Dad

This letter was a blueprint that has helped me to free my soul. When I was 57, I was going through a divorce and feeling very alone. But, finding this letter gave me hope and renewed my strength. It reminded me I was not alone. God was with me, and I had work to do for God’s Glory. This heartfelt letter was a reminder of God’s Amazing Grace and the power of forgiveness. I understood my calling, my purpose, and my life’s mission. I realized why I was born.
